With Microsoft's announcement of the Xbox One S at E3 2016, all fans of the system will be looking to upgrade. Usually this takes a few hundred dollars to accomplish however a YouTube video shows an easier (and cheaper) way.

YOUTUBE SHOWS A DIY XBOX UPGRADE

When it comes to technology, it's important to keep up with the latest updates and developments. Sometimes this can be a chore, but in the case of an Xbox upgrade, it only takes a few minutes. While this YouTube video shows how to upgrade from the 360 to the Xbox One, the same logic can apply. Since Microsoft started making the "One", the company figured it would be easier to put the same chipset and hardware in the 360 and One than to make separate ones in smaller quantities. As a result, the Xbox One has the same hardware as the 360, it's just hidden and a bit simplified. For those who have a 360, all you need is some development code to upgrade that 360 to the latest system.

BE CAREFUL WHEN UPGRADING

Fortunately, this YouTube video gives appropriate warnings to those who are doing the upgrade themselves. When upgrading, all the contents of the hard drive will be deleted as the new operating system will be installed on the 360. That's why it's important to back up all of your information before performing the technical upgrade. Also, the latest systems are not backwards compatible, so when you upgrade your 360, you should understand that it will no longer be possible to play 360 games. Now that you've been warned, follow the YouTube video to upgrade your new Microsoft gaming system.

THE DIFFERENCE

Now that YouTube has shown how to upgrade from the 360 to the One, perhaps it will be possible to do so with the recently announced One S. Before making a bold decision, however, it would be helpful to know how the newest system differs. According to Microsoft, the Xbox One S has lost 40 percent of its body mass, making it half the size of its predecessor. In addition to its aesthetic design, the One is 4K compatible. It can stream 4K Ultra HD content from Netflix, Amazon Video and others. It also supports 4K HDR content, which means videos will be sharper and more dynamic. Simply put, everything will look better. Hopefully, upgrading to the new One S will be as easy as before, as it's shaping up to be a great system.
