I'd have to think about this a bit, but I think swords are my favorite type of weapon in Skyrim. The best part about these swords, and all other weapons, is how many different types there are. With that in mind, I present to you the top five swords in Skyrim.
5. BLACK BLADE OF GAULDUR
Be warned, the boss you have to beat to get this sword can be very annoying. The damage you deal with this weapon is decent at best, but that's not why I like it so much. In the world of Skyrim, you can use the black blade of Gauldur to absorb health! I love weapons that can improve your health, that's for sure.
4. DRAGONBANE
The Dragonbane is a sword that deals an impressive amount of damage. On top of that, this weapon also deals a good amount of shock damage to anything else. If you want a sword that deals a lot of damage not only to your opponent but also to other obstacles around you, then the Dragonbane is perfect for you.
3. DAWNBREAKER
The most beautiful sword in Skyrim, at least from my perspective, is the Dawnbreaker. Be honest for a second, the first time you saw the glow on this sword, you freaked out a bit, didn't you? Anyway, functionally, this sword is also great because it deals fire damage to any target you hit with it.
2. ROSSIGNOL BLADE
Remember when I said I was a fanatic about weapons that give you health? Well, this is the nightingale blade. This sword is a more advanced version of the Gauldur Blockade as it deals much more damage. However, it retains the ability to absorb health while giving you more stamina per hit.
1. THE SWORD OF MIRAAK
There is no sword in the world of Skyrim that surpasses the Sword of Miraak. It is one of the most powerful swords in the game, if not the strongest, and is only available in the Dragonborn DLC.
