Get ready to plan your beach vacation in Sicily.
From the magical majesty of the volcano Etna to the endless beauty of Palermo and the baroque wonders of Val di Noto, Sicily has a thousand and one stories to tell. Among the reasons to spend a vacation in Sicily, however, one cannot miss the pronounced attraction of the beaches. Transparent and crystal clear, the Sicilian sea offers some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, between hidden coves and wild oases, surrounded by the greenery of the Mediterranean. We will therefore give you some suggestions on where to rent your villa with a fantastic pool, of course by the sea.
Vendicari Beach
Vendicari beach is one of the most fascinating coasts of the Reserve. It is located in the southern zone, between the shores of Calamosche and San Lorenzo, a beach that delimits the borders of the Reserve. It has a very long sandy coastline, with a shallow seabed that slopes gently down to the sea. This uncontaminated place, located inside the Natural Reserve of Vendicari, reveals itself little by little, as a great jewel. Situated between two rocky promontories, it is a small paradise with transparent waters and white sand. All around, nature celebrates its lushness between dwarf palm trees, myrtles, olive trees, agaves and flowering bushes. A 20 minute walk is necessary to reach it, but you have to wait for all the beautiful things.
Capo d'Orlando
At 90 kilometers from Messina, we see Capo d'Orlando, one of the most exciting places of the northern coast of Sicily. Besides the center of this small town of 13,000 inhabitants, the most impressive is undoubtedly the landscape seen from the sea of Mount Madonna and its lighthouse (both visible from the same town).
Cefalù. This is without a doubt one of the most famous places in Sicily. The 13,000 inhabitants of this province of Palermo (located about 67 km from the capital) are almost invaded in summer. Besides the attraction of the sea, Cefalù offers tourists a beautiful village shaped by the Greeks and especially by the Romans. It also suffered the Arab domination, without however bringing tangible traces in the monuments that have come down to us. From the temple of Diana to the cathedral in Cefalù, we can appreciate the stratification of the different cultures that have crossed Sicily.
The island of women (Isola Delle Femmine)
In some cases, the name alone is enough to fascinate visitors, but do not expect to see only women. The percentage of young ladies does not differ from the popular Sicilian average. The name is the result of an imaginative and very generous Italianization of insula Fimi, or the island of Eufemio".
Panarea
An enchantment surrounded by the crystalline sea and the Mediterranean maquis, rich in a luxuriant nature. The island of Panarea is the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago of volcanic origin. The island, located between Lipari and Stromboli, is also the oldest from a geological point of view. The surrounding islets of Basiluzzo, Bottaro, Dattilo, Lisca Bianca and Lisca Nera emerge from the sea. They form a micro-archipelago from a single volcanic complex.
Marina di Ragusa
It is the seaport of the capital of the province. Ragusa is not very close - 24 km - but it can be an excellent alternative to sunny mornings on the beach and sunsets in the pool of your villa.
We give you the best tips on where to sleep within walking distance of the beach. Accommodation is one of those things that can turn an ordinary vacation into something special or, on the contrary, ruin it completely.
