If Dark Souls 3 makes your blood boil, put down your controller and get to the kitchen table. Steamforged Games is developing a board game for the popular series. Dark Souls: The Board Game will allow players to share their frustration with friends while taking a break from the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
PS4 and Xbox One Controller Saving
Challenging gameplay is being brought to the PS4 and Xbox One with the release of Dark Souls 3. The Steamforged Games board game hopes to give gamers another way to play the popular series and, at the same time, save a few PS4 and Xbox One controllers from an untimely death. Dark Souls: The Board Game is an adventure and combat game that can be played with up to 4 players. Players will traverse numerous dungeons where they will encounter many enemies and treasures. Like Dark Souls 3, the board game focuses on boss battles. Players will have to work together and find a way to defeat the bosses at the end of each game.
The rich history of Dark Souls 3
The board game follows the deep story of its PS4 and Xbox One counterpart, Dark Souls 3. The miniatures that come with the game are highly detailed and resemble the characters and enemies from the video game series. The base game when released will contain 28 miniatures, 7 game tiles, 4 boards, 162 cards, 15 dice and over 100 game tokens.
Add-ons galore
As part of its Kickstarter campaign, Steamforged Games is offering extra perks to people who raise their pledges for the board game. These extra perks come in the form of add-on packs. The creators are currently focusing on boss expansions, featuring figures from the series' past like the Gaping Dragon and Guardian Dragon. Steamforged games will continue to reveal expansions throughout the board game's Kickstarter campaign. The board game won't ship until a few months after the Kickstarter campaign ends. Until then, players will have to settle for Dark Souls 3 on PS4 or Xbox One.
