For those who like casual mobile games, Clash Royale is a game that should interest you. It is Super Cell's latest hit game in the mobile gaming industry. It combines Clash of Clans and Hearthstone, creating a unique and fun card battle experience.
Basic gameplay
The rules of the game are quite simple. You have 3 crown towers (one of which is the king's castle). Your job is simple. Destroy more crown towers than your opponent! If you manage to destroy the king's castle in the middle, you automatically win 3 crowns and you win!
There are also a few things you need to know when playing against other players:
- You have 3 minutes to destroy your opponent's towers.
- If you can't destroy anything in 3 minutes, you get an extra 1 minute time counter and the one who destroys the first tower wins.
- You get a double growth of elixir during the last 60 seconds of normal play.
Battles are fought in real time!
This means you are playing against another player! You really have to outsmart your opponent if you want to win enough games to move up in the arena. You can choose to use the same strategy to win against your opponent, but it won't always work because everyone is different. Some players react better to certain cards, while others don't know how to counter specific card combos.
Short and fun battles
Unlike Clash of Clans where you have to build your army and wait (especially for free players), Clash Royale eliminates this need. Since each battle lasts only 4 minutes maximum, you can literally enjoy it during breaks at school or work.
Game construction
This is where a lot of people spend a lot of their time. They always want to improve and see what deck of cards will give them an edge to win and move up in the arena. There are different decks you can build and I'll give you a few examples below:
- Spell Deck - Uses spells like fireball, arrow, lightning, freeze, or rage and pairs them with cards like Hog Rider/Prince to deal good damage to enemy towers. Most spells are primarily used to destroy specific types of troops. For example, arrows are excellent against small troops.
- Troop Deck - Specializes in using small to medium troops to crush your enemy. This is the best starting deck to assemble since most small troops are unlocked early in the game. Arrows literally counters this deck. Keep that in mind.
- Building Destroyer Deck - Uses heavy cards like Mini PEKKA, PEKKA, Giant, Prince and Hog Rider with support cards to quickly destroy buildings. This can be countered by using small troops and also tower cards.
Card counters
Another advantage of this game is that you can counter a specific card with others. As you advance to the higher arenas, people become smarter and know how to counter your plays. You will need to be quick and know how to manage your elixir use carefully.
Here are some basic card counters:
- Giant - Use Skeleton Army or Infernal Tower to deal with them.
- Minions - Archers work very well because they have the advantage of distance.
- Barbarians - A tower of bombs will really keep them away from your crown towers.
- Small Troops - Things like skeletons, goblins, archers, spear goblins can easily be countered with an arrow spell.
- Prince - As with the giant, you drop the skeleton army on him. Keep an eye on the potential arrow counter though.

Ability to use emotes!
The ability to use emotes and say things like "Good game" or "Oops" makes the game a bit more interactive than other mobile games. Human interaction is definitely present and that's what sets this game apart from other PvP-oriented mobile games.
Visuals and presentation
The game gives a very cute and adorable impression. This makes sense since the game is aimed at children between 12 and 20 years old. However, that doesn't mean that adults can't play it! Many YouTubers, like Molt, play it and they are over 20 years old. Don't think that this is a game for kids! I'm sure there are many people over 30 playing it. Although the graphics are childish and cute, this game is played by people of all ages.
