How to be remarkable ?
There are many different ways to be remarkable, but you should keep in mind a few basic principles, no matter what area of your life you would like to be remarkable in. You can only become remarkable when you live in accordance with yourself. More than that, you should give yourself big projects and have the audacity to achieve them.
1. Express your opinions. You have opinions and ideas of your own and it is time to share them with others. Hiding behind consensual opinions is a good way to fit in, but it won't make you stand out.
The moment you give up your individuality, you also give up your ability to stand out.
This does not mean, of course, that you should be gratuitously provocative. You don't need to oppose the most popular opinions if you agree with them. There are many ways to express yourself diplomatically so that you don't make unnecessary enemies, even if you need to denounce something.
2. Dare to be emotional. Rather than turning away and becoming hardened to the injustices you see, allow yourself to become emotional about the issues. It's easy to remain stoic in the face of bad behavior. It's more extraordinary to stand up to it.
You might be concerned about the abuse of power in your workplace or the abuse of the world's poorest people. In both cases, you are taking the first step to change things, which the average person refuses to do, when you choose your side and fight injustices.
3. Question everything. Rather than accepting a compromise, you should question everything. The current approach to a problem may or may not be the right one, but you won't really know until you take the time to examine it.
You might ask yourself the following questions.
Why is a particular law or rule being enforced?
What are the consequences of not following the law or rule?
What are the alternatives and why are they rarely or never used?
Answer these questions honestly, knowing that you may not like all the answers. A good understanding of yourself and the world around you will give you the best angles on which to build.
4. Use your talents and passions. You already have your own set of abilities and interests. Find ways to use them in your life.
When you enjoy the work you do and have a talent for it, you usually strive to go further than if you were doing a task that doesn't interest you.
5. Have confidence in yourself. You should rely more on your abilities and decisions, regardless of what may have happened in the past. If you can't trust yourself, you will never be able to overcome your past pitfalls.
Trusting yourself can also encourage others to trust you. If you come across as indecisive, you may be ignored and provide opportunities for others who are more confident to grow and succeed.
6. Think big. Don't be afraid of goals that seem unrealistic. Most of the time, something hasn't been done because no one has worked on it until now. Never assume that a dream is out of your reach because it is difficult to achieve.
There are obviously some goals that you won't be able to achieve, but you won't know that until you try them for a while. When you start dreaming, don't be afraid to think big. Only drop a big goal after you've learned from your experiences if a dream is unattainable.
7. Express your goals. When you have a dream, start by talking about it around you. By doing so, you are more faithful to your dreams while increasing the possibilities of openings in these areas.
Tell optimistic people about your plans, as they will be the most likely to encourage you.
You suddenly gain an audience when you tell anyone about your dreams. It may not be much, but knowing that others are watching and listening can help you move forward.
Plus, someone you talk to may have the resources or connections to help you better pursue your goals.
8. Stay optimistic. It's all too easy to focus on what didn't work out, but you should start by thinking about all the things that can succeed, if you want to do remarkable things in your life. Optimism will probably get you much further than pessimism.
Understand the difference between optimism and idealism, just as there is a difference between pessimism and realism. You should strive to be both optimistic and realistic. Pursue the most positive goals that are within your reach and set a realistic course to achieve them.
9. Give up your perfectionism. If there is one dream you should get rid of, it is the dream of perfection. You are bound to make mistakes. This reality is inescapable. You should confront your fear of failure and put it aside if you want to do something remarkable.
Think of the most exceptional person you can think of and remember that they too made mistakes on their way to success, if you need to overcome your perfectionism. In fact, you can learn a lot from the mistakes you've made in your life, if you think about it.
10. Accept responsibility. Stop making excuses and accept responsibility for your life. No one has ever accomplished anything meaningful by talking about all the reasons why he or she can't do something. Your life is your own and ultimately you are responsible for what you do and don't do.
Life may impose limitations on you. For example, your project may be rejected by your boss or you may be denied the credit you need to start your own business. However, just because you will have such obstacles doesn't mean you shouldn't try. It just means that you should take a different route to get to your destination.
Accept the responsibilities that come with your success, when you do. When you experience failure, accept responsibility for it as well. Acknowledge the results of your work. It's the only way to move forward.
11. Stop being distracted from your goals. The world is full of distractions. Everyone needs to relax a little, but your hobbies will ultimately hurt you more than anything else if they keep you from making good use of your time.
The biggest problem with these diversions is that they distract you from what's important. You may become so comfortable with your situation that you fall into a routine. You can easily spend your days letting yourself live when you are in a rut.
12. Start right away! Start the process now. This probably isn't the right time for a lot of reasons, but you might not get anything done at all if you don't take action when you feel like it most.
There will never be a perfect time. There will always be minor or major obstacles in your way and no act would be remarkable if it were easy to do.
13. Give it a try. Find an action you can take with your current means and possibilities, and then take the first step. You may succeed or fail. Either way, this first attempt is the only way to get you started.
Consider trying something easy first, especially if you need to restore your confidence. Your loss will be paltry if you fail. If you succeed, that success will also be quite small. Nevertheless, you can become addicted to success. When you get a taste for it, you will naturally be more tempted than before to look for other opportunities to succeed.
14. Go the extra mile. When you've succeeded within your current means, you'll likely see those means increase. Go through every door that opens for you.
If, for example, you shined on a small project, your boss may give you a bigger project next time.
Also, don't be afraid to demand more responsibility. Your superiors will have more confidence in your abilities and will be more willing to accommodate your request if you are both eager to shine and have a proven track record.
15. Work hard. No one becomes outstanding by working as little as possible. You will need to work hard with a consistent and strong work ethic.
A less strenuous path may be appropriate for the average person. But you're not looking to be average, you want to be outstanding. You want to be outstanding, so you will have to work harder to get there and put in a lot more effort than the average person.
